According to L'Équipe, Nico Schlotterbeck has extended his Borussia Dortmund contract until 2031, opting for a long-term stay despite interest from abroad.
The German defender had long been linked with a move, with rumours placing him at Manchester United or even Real Madrid. The new agreement is a four-year extension.
Schlotterbeck arrived in 2022 and quickly established himself as a mainstay in Dortmund’s defence.
Strong in duels and assured in build-up, he has emerged as a dressing-room leader at 26.
Since joining, he has been a regular for Germany and now has 25 caps. The long-term deal secures one of Dortmund’s defensive pillars.
