Nico Williams back with the group at Lezama | OneFootball

Nico Williams has rejoined Athletic’s group session at Lezama, greeted by team-mates in high spirits. The international winger completed steady running during the 15 minutes open to the media.

According to as.com, Ernesto Valverde and the medical staff allowed him to join this pre-weekend session and have decided he will step up to full training on Monday, ahead of Sunday three April at Getafe after the international break.

He has spent a month and a half on a new plan to ease pubalgia, splitting time between London, Lezama, Madrid, Barañain and Tafalla. The programme has been overseen by external specialist Jurdan Mendigutxia, who has treated Muniain, Prados and Sancet for the same issue. His last match was on 11 February in the first leg of the Copa semi-final, and on 16 February the club said he had started a different procedure.

Iñaki Williams, carrying discomfort that kept him out of Ghana duty, worked separately with the ball. Serrano left the session after continuous running. Yuri and Vivian returned to the main group, while injured Paredes and Prados were absent.

Paredes trained outside on Wednesday for the first time, wearing trainers, after a heavy blow in the Copa semi three weeks ago. Simón and Laporte are with the national team, and Selton is with the Under-19s for Elite Round matches against Slovenia, Finland and the Netherlands in Benidorm.

Egiluz and Sannadi have trained with the group for several weeks after knee injuries and could be available to Valverde for Getafe.
