Nicolas Pallois has confirmed his departure from Reims after the final round of Ligue 2, with his one-year deal due to end in June.
The player said in a post that the adventure had not unfolded as he imagined, that he appreciated the battles and supporters’ backing, and that he is ready for a new challenge to continue his career.
Pallois joined a year ago and was made captain by Karel Geraerts from August to January. The option for an additional year was not taken up, so his contract runs out next month.
After the arrival of Samuel Kotto he lost his place. He has not featured since mid-January and was left out of the squad from early April.
His announcement followed Reims’ 5-3 win over Pau on the 34th and final matchday.
Pallois turns 39 on 19 September and has previously played for Bordeaux, Nantes, Valenciennes, Laval and Niort.
