Nîmes announce death of reserve captain Teva Rodriguez, 19, after car crash | OneFootball

Nîmes Olympique announced on X on Tuesday evening that reserve captain Teva Rodriguez, 19, had died after a serious road accident on Sunday.

He was taken to CHU de Carémeau on Sunday afternoon following the crash.

Rodriguez joined Nîmes in 2012 from Uzès and was part of the club’s 2006 generation. He became captain of the reserves in 2026.

In its tribute, the club described him as more than a player, a homegrown team-mate and sincere friend. He was remembered for his passion for football, his smile and kindness, and for embodying the club’s identity.

As a mark of respect, the Crocodiles have replaced their website crest with a black version.
