Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri will be without nine of his players during the final international break of the season.
The list includes three players who will take part in the European World Cup playoffs. Gustav Isaksen and Oliver Provstgaard will both represent Denmark, who will host North Macedonia in the semi-final on Thursday. If they get through to the final, their opponent will be the winner of the Czech Republic and the Republic of Ireland.
In addition to the Danish duo, Elseid Hysaj is also involved in the WC playoffs, as Albania will travel to Poland for a semi-final clash on Thursday. The winner will meet either Sweden or Ukraine in the final.
Speaking of the Polish national team, Adrian Przyborek has also been called up for international duty, but not for the senior team. The new Lazio signing will join Poland U19, who have three tough European Championship qualifiers to negotiate against Portugal, England, and Serbia.
With Mattia Zaccagni injured and Daniel Maldini omitted, Lazio don’t have a representative among Gennaro Gattuso’s Italy ranks, but Edoardo Motta will join the Azzurrini’s ranks for two U21 European Championship qualifiers against North Macedonia and Sweden.
Finally, Petar Ratkov (Serbia), Adam Marusic (Montenegro), Boulaye Dia (Senegal), and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru (Nigeria) have been called up, but their respective national teams will only take part in friendly fixtures.
