Noah Okafor has been recalled to the Switzerland squad as an injury replacement, ending a national-team absence since November 2024. The 25-year-old has 24 caps.
The federation announced that Filip Ugrinić is injured and will miss the training camp, and that Okafor has been called up as his replacement.
For Leeds, he has mostly operated on the left, either alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin or from the flank, though he has also featured up front and on the right.
In the Premier League he has 15 starts and nine substitute outings, scoring four times and providing no assists. He returned on Saturday night after a hamstring issue that sidelined him for five straight league and cup games.
The recall follows a period in which his relationship with Murat Yakin had been strained by limited minutes, unexplained benchings and being fielded out of position.
After the call-up, he expressed gratitude at being back and pledged to give everything for the team, adding that his World Cup dream remains alive.
Switzerland face Germany, and Leeds team-mate Anton Stach, on Friday, then travel to Norway next Tuesday. They are due to meet Qatar and Jesse Marsch’s Canada at the World Cup, plus a play-off qualifier to be confirmed.
