Noah Saviolo explains Benfica shirt post after social media mix-up | OneFootball

Noah Saviolo has moved to clarify a social media storm after appearing in a post wearing a Benfica shirt.

The Vitória de Guimarães winger said in a post that the image was a private thank you to a friend and should not be seen as linked to his future. He stressed his respect for Vitória and apologised to supporters who felt offended.

He had swapped shirts with Dodi Lukebakio after the meeting between the clubs at the Estádio da Luz and intended to send the photo to him. By mistake it was posted to Instagram, then swiftly deleted.

The episode carried extra weight as Benfica retain an interest in signing the Portugal under-21 international for next season, while Roma are also monitoring his situation.

In 2025/26 Saviolo, valued at €10 million, made 36 appearances for Vitória, 30 in the league, three in the Taça de Portugal and three in the Taça da Liga. He totalled 2,314 minutes with two goals and five assists.
