Norwegian FA asks FIFA ethics body to clarify Infantino peace award to Donald Trump | OneFootball

The Norwegian Football Federation has referred the matter to FIFA’s ethics committee to clarify how Gianni Infantino awarded a peace prize to Donald Trump. The federation said on Tuesday that it has lodged the request.

The move supports the human rights group FairSquare, which approached the committee in December accusing the FIFA president of breaching a duty of neutrality.

President Lise Klaveness said the NFF is sending the letter alone, noting other federations knew they could have co-signed, and that pressing anyone would only create friction.

At the 2026 World Cup draw in December in Washington, Infantino presented a FIFA peace prize to the American president. Trump has made no secret of his wish, so far unfulfilled, to win the Nobel Peace Prize. Infantino had also urged that Trump receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

FIFA has not clarified the criteria or process for this newly created award.
