Norwich City fans will be watching closely as a huge career milestone looms for Gabriel Sara following his 2024 exit from Carrow Road
Many stars have passed through Norwich City in recent years, with the club's ability to recruit and develop assets before collecting significant profits earning no shortage of plaudits.
Over years gone by, the Canaries have netted eight-figure fees at an astounding profit on the likes of Emi Buendia, Ben Godfrey, James Maddison, while academy products such as Jamal Lewis, Jacob and Josh Murphy, Andrew Omobamidele and Jonathan Rowe have also been sold on for handsome figures after starring at Carrow Road.
Norwich have, of course, endured a fair share of shortcomings since suffering relegation out of the Premier League in the 2021/22 campaign, and there has only been a scarce threat to return ever since.
However, from a recruitment perspective, they're continuing to get plenty right and have a clearly-defined - if much-maligned, model in terms of identifying talent, which supporters will hope bears fruit in the long run.
Some of the more recent sales at Carrow Road include the aforementioned Rowe alongside Gabriel Sara and the freshly-departed Josh Sargent, who has just landed in with MLS side Toronto FC after a messy saga and fall-out.
It's Sara, however, who has made the most waves of all of Norwich's former stars in recent times, and Canaries supporters will love what's just happened with the Galatasaray midfield star a year-and-a-half on after his exit from Norfolk.
Sara lit up Norwich during a memorable two-year stint following his hotly-anticipated arrival from Sao Paulo in the summer of 2022, with the Brazilian's second and final campaign yielding a remarkable haul of 13 goals and 12 assists from midfield as the Canaries made it to the Championship play-off semi-finals.

His performances in the second-tier would earn a reported £20 million switch to Turkish giants Galatasaray, where he has gone on to establish himself as a standout performer in a side which features global stars in Ilkay Gundogan, Mauro Icardi, Victor Osimhen and Leroy Sane.
Having helped Galatasaray to the league title last season, and with 8 goals and 12 assists from 82 appearances under his belt in Istanbul at the time of writing, Sara's displays haven't gone unnoticed and he's now set to achieve a major career milestone at the age of 26.
After impressing in his side's 1-0 UEFA Champions League round of 16 first-leg victory over reigning Premier League champions Liverpool on Tuesday evening, it emerged via X by GloboEsporte reporter Cahe Mota that Sara is in line to receive his first senior call-up for Brazil.
It's said that the uncapped 26-year-old is on Carlo Ancelotti's pre-list for upcoming friendly fixtures against France and Croatia later this month, with the ex-Real Madrid boss set to announce his selections for Brazil's last two pre-FIFA 2026 World Cup outings next Monday.
This comes following an injury to Newcastle United midfield dynamo Bruno Guimaraes, which has opened up a window of opportunity for Sara after being watched closely by Ancelotti as of late.
The news is sure to be well-received by the Norwich faithful, who will love to see Sara going from strength to strength after already starring for Galatasaray both domestically and, indeed, in European competition.

It was abundantly clear throughout Sara's time in England that he was a player destined for bigger and better things, and Norwich fans may always feel fortunate to have seen the Brazilian in action for two years.
When the time came for Sara to move on, he didn't kick up a fuss and leave under a cloud in comparison to others who ultimately earned big switches elsewhere such as Rowe and Sargent - and the decision to pursue an opportunity on the continent has proved to be an entirely justified and successful one, too.
It'll be interesting to see if Sara makes the cut for Ancelotti's World Cup squad, and if he does, you can bet that Canaries galore will be watching on with a sense of pride.
