According to Pink Un, that is an area of the squad that the Canaries do want to improve in the winter market.

However, the Brazilian is not an immediate target as we quickly approach the new year and the opening of the transfer window.

Philippe Clement has been installed as manager in recent weeks, and the new head coach will be keen to strengthen the first team squad in January.

The Norfolk outfit are currently at risk of relegation to League One, meaning the upcoming transfer market could prove a crucial period of the campaign.

It is believed that Norwich are not interested in a deal for Andre Luiz at this time as they prepare for the upcoming winter market. The 23-year-old has four goals in 11 appearances in 2025/26 so far.

It was reported earlier this week that the Rio Ave player is attracting the attention of a number of clubs in England, including the Canaries, Stoke City and Portsmouth, plus Premier League sides, Brentford and Sunderland.

However, it’s understood that Ben Knapper is focusing on other targets to improve Norwich’s wide players, with the sporting director heavily involved in the recruitment process.

The Canaries are reportedly seeking an improvement to the wingers in their first team squad, as they look to add some extra attacking firepower that can aid their survival bid.

The sale of Borja Sainz last summer has proven quite detrimental to the Norfolk outfit, who have scored just 16 goals from their opening 17 fixtures in the Championship.

This January will also be Clement’s first opportunity to shape the squad to his liking, having been appointed as manager earlier this month.

The Canaries will be in the relegation zone at the start of December, highlighting the size of task in front of them going into the January window.

Norwich City need to be active in January

Norwich cannot afford to go through the January window without doing some business given their league position, so it’s understandable that wingers are being looked at following Clement’s arrival.

Selling Sainz in the summer has made the team worse, with nobody stepping up to take on his goal-scoring responsibility.

Knapper is also under a lot of pressure to turn the club’s form around, as he is in control of their recruitment and the team has gone significantly backwards since his arrival.

If he is unable to properly strengthen the squad in January, then his position will be in serious jeopardy.
