Sam Field spent the second half of the season on loan with Norwich City
Norwich City are preparing for what could be a busy summer as Philippe Clement prepares for his first pre-season as head coach.
The 52-year-old took charge at Carrow Road last November, and he oversaw an impressive second half of the campaign.
The Canaries were facing the prospect of a relegation battle prior to his arrival, but a strong run of form in recent months lifted them up to ninth in the Championship table.
The Norfolk outfit were eight points adrift of sixth place Hull City, so will be looking to bridge that gap over the summer in order to maintain a promotion push in the next campaign.
This will be Clement’s first real chance to shape the squad to his liking, making it an important period for the club.
It could be a busy couple of months ahead in the transfer market, with Norwich targeting a return to the Premier League for the first time since 2022.

It has been reported by Pink Un that a number of Championship sides are interested in signing Sam Field, as they weigh up a potential permanent move for the midfielder.
The 28-year-old signed for the Canaries on loan from QPR in the January window, and he made a total of 13 appearances in the second half of the campaign.
However, the Norfolk outfit have not made a final decision on whether to pursue a permanent deal ahead of his return to Loftus Road.
It’s understood that some of the other potential options on the table could offer Field greater assurances regarding consistent game time compared to Norwich.
The midfielder fell down the pecking order under Julien Stéphan at QPR following his arrival as manager last summer.
He made just 18 appearances in the Championship, including nine starts, prior to his temporary move to Norwich in the winter market.
However, Clement will have Pelle Mattsson back to full fitness, and he and Kenny McLean are likely to both be ahead of Field in his plans when everyone is available.
But the QPR player could also be tempted by the prospect of a promotion push next season, as well as a stronger financial offer.
It remains to be seen what kind of fee the Hoops would seek for a permanent exit as well, which will also play a factor in determining his future.

Field has been a regular at QPR since making the move to Loftus Road from West Brom in 2021, but it’s clear that he is not a major part of Stéphan’s plans.
He proved a useful addition to Clement’s side in the January window, but he wouldn’t be guaranteed starting minutes at Carrow Road either.
But he provided strength in depth that helped the team in their climb back up the table, so he could obviously be of some use again next season.
Yet if Field wants a guarantee of regular minutes, then perhaps these other Championship sides considering a move may be better placed to sign him from QPR this summer, but it will all ultimately come down to what he wants from the next step in his career.
