Norwich City sink Preston with first half double to climb the table

Norwich City beat Preston North End 2-0 at Carrow Road, climbing from 15th to 12th in the Championship.
Ali Ahmed struck from the centre of the box in the 17th minute to put the Canaries ahead.
Kenny McLean bent a free kick into the top right corner (39.) to hand the Canaries control.
Liam Gibbs then struck the bar (44.) as the Canaries pressed before the interval.
After the restart, Preston carried more threat, but Vladan Kovacevic made four saves to preserve the clean sheet, denying Andrew Hughes and Daniel Jebbison.
Benjamin Chrisene went off injured and was replaced by Kellen Fisher (60.).
The Canaries saw 62.3% possession and registered nine attempts. Preston produced 15 efforts but could not find a way through.
Preston have now lost four league games in a row. Next, the Canaries visit Southampton. Preston host Stoke City next.
