‘Not good’ – Hansi Flick was left unimpressed with Barcelona summer signing’s debut | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick admitted that he was not left overly impressed by the performance put forth by summer signing Karim Adeyemi against Birmingham City.

Attacker Adeyemi was of course unveiled as the latest addition to Flick’s star-studded Blaugrana squad last week, after a cut-price deal was struck with Borussia Dortmund ahead of the German’s contract terms in 12 months’ time.

Adeyemi, in turn, spent the week to date training alongside his new teammates, before being afforded his debut appearance courtesy of a starting berth against the aforementioned Birmingham in a friendly.

The 24-year-old endured a difficult evening at St. Andrew’s, looking largely out of sorts in his new club’s tactical setup.

And as alluded to above, drawn on the performance put forth by his recent addition in the game’s aftermath, Hansi Flick was not shy in confirming that Adeyemi is capable of much more.

In quotes cited by Goal, Barca’s headmaster explained:

“Karim, some things he did were not very good. I think he has more potential to show, but he is still in the first week of training so that’s normal.

“I’ve seen a better Karim in training with his speed and finishing, but he has a lot of potential and can give us a lot.”
