Rangers have suffered a blow in the chase for former Gers winger Vaclav Cerny as he ‘is not inclined to leave’ current club Besiktas now.

The Scottish giants have already brought in multiple new faces to replenish the squad, but their transfer business is expected to be far from over and there is a real demand for more creativity.

The arrival of Lawrence Shankland has been a huge boost, but the Gers want to beef up their options out wide before the window closes.

Rangers are keen on reuniting with Tottenham Hotspur starlet Mikey Moore, who impressed at Ibrox last season.

South African defender Olwethu Makhanya is closing in on a move to toughen up the backline, but the club hierarchy are working to put more quality into their attack.

Former Rangers loanee Cerny is on the Gers’ wish list this summer for a potential comeback; he is currently plying his trade in Turkey.

The 28-year-old right-winger impressed with 18 goals and nine assists in 52 games in Scotland and despite having the chance to sign him permanently last summer, Rangers refused to take it, which they were criticised for.

One ex-top-flight star suggested the Gers sign him, but he ended up joining Super Lig outfit Besiktas on a permanent deal.

He is a first-team player at the Tupras Stadium, and now the Gers want him back, with two years left on his current deal.

According to Turkish broadcaster A Spor (via Asist Analiz), the Czech winger is attracting transfer interest from Saudi Arabia.

Cerny, though, is currently not inclined to make a move away from Besiktas amid interest in him.

Danish winger Andreas Skov Olsen was brought in last term mid-season to play on the right wing, but he struggled to live up to expectations with only one goal in his loan spell.

With Cerny back on the Gers’ agenda, it remains to be seen whether they will make a move for him to test his resolve.
