Lazio are keeping close tabs on River Plate teenager Ian Subiabre, who is viewed as likely to head to Europe before long.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Lazio are seriously interested in Lautaro Rivero as an alternative to Diogo Leite, with the latter’s salary request potentially too high for Claudio Lotito.
The Biancocelesti may instead invest in a younger option at around €10 million. The left-footed centre-back could be groomed as Alessio Romagnoli’s heir if he can see off Oliver Provstgaard.
Rivero is not the only River Plate prospect on Lazio’s list, with Subiabre also shortlisted. The 19-year-old winger graduated from Los Millonarios’ academy and has been in the first team since 2024.
Subiabre’s deal runs until December 2028. This season he has become a regular, making 14 appearances in all competitions with one goal and assists. He is left-footed, often cutting in from the right, and can operate across the front line.
