Nottingham Forest’s hierarchy are meeting in Athens this week to review a turbulent campaign and map their summer window. According to NY Times, Evangelos Marinakis has convened head coach Vitor Pereira, George Syrianos and Pedro Ferreira.

A collaborative model is in place, with Pereira identifying needs and recruitment drawing up targets before he helps set priorities. Forest do not plan to replace Ross Wilson, while recent and expected departures might prompt restructuring.

Pereira believes the 16th-placed squad underachieved and wants to keep the core. He targets three or four signings, minor tweaks rather than an overhaul, and hopes to complete most business before the pre-season camp in Portugal.

He intends to build around Murillo, Morgan Gibbs-White, Nikola Milenkovic, Ola Aina, Ibrahim Sangare, Chris Wood and Igor Jesus.

Forest are not actively looking to sell Elliot Anderson, yet accept he is likely to move, possibly before the World Cup. Marinakis values him at upwards of £110m, which would ease pressure to sell others, with Gibbs-White, Murillo, Sangare and Williams among those they aim to keep.

Should Anderson go, replacing him is the priority, while Pereira wants at least two options in every position. Another forward is sought, with Lorenzo Lucca set to return to Napoli and the option not activated. Goalkeeper may also need attention.

Elanga’s £52m sale falls into the current SCR period. If Anderson goes before month-end, Forest should have room to manoeuvre, with Marinakis typically reinvesting, though no repeat of last summer’s £200m, 13-signing spree is planned.
