Nottingham Forest and Rio Ave agree early end to Eric Moreira loan | OneFootball

Eric da Silva Moreira’s loan at Rio Ave has been cut short, with Nottingham Forest and the Portuguese side agreeing to terminate the deal.

The club said in a statement that the 19-year-old will now return to Forest to continue his career.

He was due to spend the season in Portugal but made only three league appearances, all from the bench.

Moreira joined Forest from St Pauli in summer 2024 and is under contract until 2028. He has played five times for Forest, including two substitute appearances in the Premier League and two FA Cup starts last season.

What comes next remains unclear, particularly after a managerial change at Forest, with Sean Dyche now in charge. The teenager can operate at right-back or on the wing, and reinforcing full-back may be a January transfer window priority.
