The former Tottenham manager is back in the Premier League after he was sacked by the north Londoners following their 17th-placed finish in the league last term.

Postecoglou had led Spurs to their first European trophy since 1984, as they beat Manchester United in the Europa League final in Bilbao.

That triumph, however, was not enough for the 60-year-old to keep his job, and he was swiftly replaced by Thomas Frank in the hotseat.

He returns to the top flight after a four-month hiatus, replacing Nuno Espirito Santo, who was let go by Forest amid tense relations with owner Evangelos Marinakis.

Postecoglou has brought four new faces to Forest to work underneath him, with three assistant coaches and one goalkeeping coach.

All four were with him at Spurs, with assistants Nick Montgomery, Sergio Raimundo, and Mile Jedinak all joining, alongside goalkeeping coach Rob Burch.

Postecoglou’s first game in charge of Forest will be this weekend, when they travel to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday to take on Arsenal.

They then visit Swansea City in a midweek League Cup encounter, before another two trips - the first to Burnley in the league, and then to Real Betis in their first Europa League game.

They finally return to the City Ground on Saturday, September 27, against Sunderland.
