Nottingham Forest confirm Dylan Malicheff as B Team head coach after detailed recruitment | OneFootball

Nottingham Forest have named Dylan Malicheff as B Team head coach after Warren Joyce’s exit earlier this summer.

According to Nottingham Post, the 34-year-old arrives from Anderlecht, where he most recently led the Under-18s.

Malicheff began at KV Mechelen as a youth coach, progressing to assistant head coach of the Under-21s at 29. He then spent 18 months as assistant head coach at Helmond Sport, his first senior-football role. A two-year stint at Club Brugge preceded his move to Anderlecht.

He said he is eager to work in a high-performance environment focused on individual development and preparing players for first-team demands. He called the role an exciting challenge and wants to help prospects maximise their potential and accelerate towards senior football. He added that he is grateful for the opportunity and will commit fully with staff to create the best environment for players to thrive.

Head of academy Chris McGuane welcomed the appointment, highlighting Malicheff’s extensive background and his role in bridging academy and first team. He noted that a detailed recruitment process saw Malicheff stand out for his standards and track record developing young players across leading European clubs. McGuane said Andy Reid and the staff are excited to keep producing players capable of reaching Forest’s first team.

Malicheff’s arrival follows academy graduate James Perch returning as a national academy scout. Sixteen years after his last Forest appearance, Perch will work across the youth development and professional development phases, covering ages 13 to 21.
