Nottingham Forest have lodged a £17.5 million bid for Feyenoord full-back Givairo Read, according to the Daily Mail.
The Tricky Trees are looking to sign a new right-back and have turned to the highly rated 20-year-old, who has caught the eye with his performances in the Eredivisie.
Read is an outstanding athlete whose marauding runs down the right flank have become a weapon for his side (he completed 21.8 sprints per game last term).
The Dutchman won 50 percent of his aerial and 62% of his ground duels in 16 league appearances, despite a downturn in form in 2025/26.
He also contributed a goal and three assists on the attacking front, proving to be a balanced full-back.
Read would be a coup for Nottingham Forest if they manage to land him ahead of Bayern Munich and Manchester City.
The European powerhouses have shown interest in the Feyenoord star, but Forest are the first to make a concrete move to secure his signature.
It also remains to be seen if that bid will be enough to convince the Dutch side to sell one of their key assets, especially with some of the outrageous numbers Premier League clubs are paying.
Forest’s pursuit of Read underlines an ambitious summer at the City Ground, with the club determined to provide Oliver Glasner with the tools to build a thriving team.
They are also working on a £35 million deal for Sporting CP centre-back Ousmane Diomande as they look to strengthen the heart of the defence.
Getting him would be another coup, considering the calibre of clubs chasing his signature.
Meanwhile, Everton striker Beto is another target to add greater firepower up front. Chris Wood is in the twilight of his career.
Forest are also expected to return with an improved £45 million bid for Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall. They want the Swede to replace Elliot Anderson in the engine room.
