Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is reportedly the top target for Nottingham Forest should they sack Nuno Espírito Santo. The manager has said to have fallen out with senior club figure Edu, who joined from Arsenal earlier this year.

As reported by Sun Sport, Rodgers is wanted for the Forest gig if Nuno is given his marching orders. The report states that Evangelos Marinakis rates Rodgers highly and may intimate a move for the Irishman.

Brendan has made it abundantly clear that he will be at Celtic for at least three years, meaning that he is unlikely to make the switch to The City Ground. Former Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has been linked with a rapid return to the Premier League.

Former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is another option for Forest, but the Portuguese manager is currently in Istanbul in his second season with Fenerbahce.

Celtic will be eager to avoid losing Rodgers but the reality is that it is Groundhog Day for Brendan. The Celtic manager was in this position back in 2018, which ultimately led to his departure to Leicester City. If Celtic do not match Rodgers’ ambition then we will lose the manager. Rodgers spoke about being at Celtic as long as his ambition aligned with the club with talks expected to continue later in the year about his future.
