Nottingham Forest begin their 2025/26 Premier League campaign by hosting Brentford at the City Ground on Sunday, aiming to harness the energy of a home crowd for a positive start.
With European football on the horizon, Nuno Espírito Santo’s men face a Brentford side embarking on a new era under a new manager. The Bees have internally the inexperienced Keith Andrews as their new head coach, following Thomas Frank’s departure for Tottenham.
Nuno Espírito Santo is expected to hand a competitive debut to new summer signing Dan Ndoye. The winger is in line to join Morgan Gibbs-White and Callum Hudson-Odoi in a potent forward line, reshaped following Anthony Elanga’s transfer to Newcastle.
Further incomings are imminent, with Rennes Arnaud Kalimuendo undergoing a medical this week. A permanent deal for Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz is also close.
In terms of injuries, an unfortunate knee issue has ruled out Nicolas Domínguez. Elliot Anderson will partner the reliable Ryan Yates centrally.
At the back, the formidable pairing of Nikola Milenković and Murillo will provide defensive steel, and the club reports no other major fitness issues heading into the opener.
Nottingham Forest predicted XI: Sels; Cunha, Milenković, Murillo, Williams; Yates, Anderson; Ndoye, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Wood.
The Premier League fixture takes place at the City Ground on Sunday, 17th August 2025, with kick-off scheduled for 4:30pm BST.
The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Premier League in the UK, with pre-match build-up starting at 4pm BST. Subscribers can also stream the action live via the Sky Go app.
