Nottingham Forest without Morgan Gibbs-White as injuries hit before Newcastle United | OneFootball

Injury-hit Nottingham Forest will be without Morgan Gibbs-White and other key players for this afternoon’s meeting with Newcastle United as they edge towards safety.

According to Nottingham Post, Gibbs-White, Ibrahim Sangare, Ola Aina and Murillo are not involved today.

The playmaker suffered a serious facial injury in Monday’s league win at Chelsea. Head coach Vitor Pereira said there was almost no chance he would feature on Thursday and he is unsure if his No.10 will play again this season.

Gibbs-White and Sangare were unused in the Europa League semi-final at Aston Villa, Murillo appeared late but was short of full fitness, and Aina did not make the squad. There is also doubt over Aina’s availability for the run-in, while Murillo felt his hamstring again.

Forest missed out on Istanbul after that midweek defeat, having been unbeaten in 10 beforehand. They start today six points clear of the drop with three matches remaining.

With Aina absent, Luca Netz will start at left wing-back and Forest look set to switch to a back three, with Neco Williams on the right and Nikola Milenkovic, Morato and Jair Cunha in front of goalkeeper Matz Sels. Nicolas Dominguez partners Elliot Anderson in midfield, while Dilane Bakwa, Igor Jesus and Taiwo Awoniyi will lead the line, with Chris Wood, Omari Hutchinson and James McAtee on the bench.
