Nuno Moreira matches best Vasco run amid Renato Gaúcho rotation | OneFootball

After a poor start to the year, Nuno Moreira is edging back to form at Vasco, matching his best run of goal involvements since joining the club.

The No 17 has affected three matches in a row, scoring against Olimpia and providing assists versus Flamengo and Audax Italiano. According to Globo.com, Renato Gaúcho has introduced a minutes rotation to manage the Brazilian football calendar.

It is his first such sequence since March last year, when he set up a goal against Nova Iguaçu in the Carioca and then scored against Flamengo and Santos.

Moreira struggled under Fernando Diniz and lost his starting place after Renato arrived. He was even named on the bench against Remo in a Brasileirão match.

With the coach alternating the squad between the national competition and the Copa Sudamericana, the Portuguese has enjoyed more rest between fixtures than at the start of the season. Of his four goal contributions in 2026, two goals and two assists, three have come during this recent spell under Renato.
