NYCFC vs Orlando City SC: How to watch, time, and more of the 2025 home opener | OneFootball

Happy 10th anniversary, New York City FC!  The club is officially celebrating ten years in Major League Soccer, and will celebrate at their 11th home opener this weekend.  In fact, the team is celebrating the anniversary on the exact day they played their first game: March 8, 2015.

To make this better, NYCFC will face the same team they faced ten years ago: their fellow 2015 expansion side, Orlando City SC.  The difference was that in the inaugural match, the Pigeons were away from home.  This time, they will be at Yankee Stadium, their original home and one of their homes for the 2025 campaign.  Therefore, this should be an exciting fixture because of the rivalry, the celebration, and the history.

Meanwhile, NYCFC will try to redeem themselves after the tough road trip against Inter Miami CF and Los Angeles FC.  If not for late goals, it is very possible the Pigeons would have returned home with four points compared to one.  This is especially true for the Miami match since they gave up a goal in the last minutes of stoppage time and missed clear-cut chances where they could have scored one or two more goals.

That is why the pressure is on for the Bronx side to be successful and win on their 10th anniversary celebration day.  However, they have to perform better than they did in the first two matches and score more goals.  Orlando has already scored six goals in two games, so NYCFC will have a challenge in front of them.
