Mexico have confirmed their 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with veteran goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa included as he targets a place in football history.

The 40-year-old has been selected for a sixth World Cup, matching the achievement of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Should he feature during the tournament, Ochoa would become one of the few players ever to appear at six editions of the competition, having first been part of Mexico's squad back in 2006.

Head coach Javier Aguirre has combined experience with emerging talent in a squad that will carry the hopes of the host nation. Fulham striker Raúl Jiménez and AC Milan forward Santiago Giménez are expected to lead the attack, while captain Edson Álvarez will play a key role in midfield.

One of the most exciting inclusions is 17-year-old Gilberto Mora, who could become Mexico's youngest-ever World Cup player. Youngsters Obed Vargas, Brian Gutiérrez and Armando González have also earned places in the final squad.

Mexico will head into the tournament as one of the co-hosts alongside the United States and Canada. El Tri begin their campaign against South Africa at the iconic Estadio Azteca before facing South Korea and the Czech Republic in Group A.
