With Manuel Neuer expected to retire next summer, Bayern Munich already have his successor lined up in the shape of Jonas Urbig.

However, the German champions are still looking for another goalkeeper, as they want an experienced and reliable backup for Urbig.

Augsburg’s Finn Dahmen has emerged as a potential option, and the club’s head coach, Manuel Baum, is well aware that the 28-year-old could be tempted by a move to the Bavarians.

“It’s already part of Augsburg’s philosophy that we sometimes allow players to leave if they are performing above expectations,” Baum said, according to Bild (via Fussballtransfers).

“If someone is among the best in the Bundesliga, then they will certainly be of interest to the best clubs in the Bundesliga. We discuss that internally. Of course, there are talks with Finn.”

With Dahmen’s contract set to expire next summer, Augsburg risk losing him on a free transfer.

“Finn will turn 29 in March. He has to ask himself: Do I already want to move into the second row, or do I want to stay at a Bundesliga club where I’m the first choice?” Baum added.

Marvin Schwäbe, whose contract with FC Köln also expires in 2027, is another option Bayern are said to be considering.
