Carlo Ancelotti is officially out of the running to become Roma’s next manager.
After months of speculation and negotiations, the final confirmation has arrived: the 65-year-old Italian coach will be the next coach of the Seleção.
The Brazilian national team confirmed it, revealing the details of an agreement now signed between the parties.
The current Real Madrid coach will end his experience in Spain after the last day of La Liga, scheduled against Real Sociedad, and then officially begin his new adventure with the Brazilian national team on May 26.
The signing of the contracts took place at the end of a negotiation defined as “cordial”, conducted by Diego Fernandes on behalf of the CBF, the Brazilian Football Federation.
This announcement concludes a long soap opera that has dominated the stage for months amid denials, expectations and market rumors. Ancelotti, who boasts a career studded with successes in the main European leagues, thus becomes the first Italian coach in history to sit on the bench of Brazil.
