La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have this weekend confirmed the latest addition to the club’s first-team ranks. The player to have committed to terms in Spain’s capital for the seasons ahead? Lee Kang-in.

The name of versatile attacking midfielder Lee has of course long emerged as a prominent one in the media headlines this summer.

Whilst on the lookout for a replacement for the outbound Antoine Griezmann, Diego Simeone and co. earmarked the South Korean as the ideal fit at the Metropolitano.

Young, talented, and with prior experience of Spanish football, talks were in turn opened with both Lee and European champions Paris Saint-Germain.

And as alluded to above, following a lengthy back-and-forth regarding the terms of the deal, this weekend, the Rojiblancos have officially landed their man.

As per a statement across Atlético’s website and social media platforms:

‘Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement for the transfer of Kang In Lee, who has signed for our club until June 30, 2031.’
