Official: Barcelona announce 2nd summer signing | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have on Thursday announced a fresh addition to the club’s attacking ranks. This comes in the form of the long-awaited confirmation of Karim Adeyemi putting pen to paper on terms in Catalunya’s capital.

Frontman Adeyemi has of course dominated the headlines in Barcelona for the last week.

After word was forthcoming that the Blaugrana had set their sights firmly on the German’s signature, a deal was quickly struck with Borussia Dortmund over the terms of a transfer.

Adeyemi, in turn, travelled to Spain last week. The expectation was that a statement regarding his signing would arrive last weekend, only to be pushed back owing to Deco and Joan Laporta’s trip to the USA for the World Cup final.

As alluded to above, though, on Thursday, the news which those of a Barca persuasion have been patiently awaiting has finally arrived.

As per an announcement across the Spanish champions’ website and social media platforms:

‘FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement for the transfer of forward Karim Adeyemi, who has signed a contract with the Catalans until 2031.’
