The bad news concerning injuries continues to rock FC Barcelona, with two fresh blows being confirmed today.
While Joan Garcia is set to undergo arthroscopic surgery due to a meniscus tear, Raphinha has suffered a hamstring injury, the Catalans have confirmed in an official statement.
“Player Raphinha has an injury in the middle third of the biceps femoris of the right thigh. The approximate time out is about 3 weeks,” the statement read.
Raphinha sustained the injury last night during Barcelona’s 3-1 win over Real Oviedo at the Carlos Tartiere Stadium.
Having started the game against the newly-promoted side, the Brazilian international had to be taken off a little after the hour mark, with Robert Lewandowski replacing him.
Tests have now confirmed a thigh injury to Raphinha, ruling him out of action for a period of three weeks.
It would mean that the 28-year-old will now miss the upcoming matches against Real Sociedad, PSG, and Sevilla, as well as Brazil’s two matches in the upcoming international break.
The hope will be that Raphinha, one of the club captains is fit in time to face Girona on 18 October after the international window, giving him enough time to be ready for the Clasico vs Real Madrid a week later.
