Official: Barcelona name starting XI for Villarreal clash | La Liga | OneFootball

FC Barcelona are set to kick off their game against Villarreal CF soon at the Estadio de la Ceramica. A big fixture for both sides as they look to get all three points, but there can only be one victor if one team is to win.

Fortunately for Hansi Flick, he has a strong squad at his disposal and he will look to make the most out of it. As such, the starting eleven chosen by him reflects the quality and experience that he seems to be trusting for this game.

Here is the official starting line-up for FC Barcelona.

In goal, to no one’s surprise, Joan Garcia starts for La Blaugrana and he will be tasked with keeping the team safe. With him present, his team can also rest assured that they have a top goalkeeper behind them.

Ahead of him, Pau Cubarsi and Gerard Martin start as the two centre-backs together. Both Spaniards have proven themselves to be reliable and Hansi Flick has decided to trust them for this game as well.

On the flanks, Alejandro Balde and Jules Kounde occupy the left and right flanks respectively. Both players are top full-backs and will need to deliver performances that reflect that in this game.

In the midfield, the absence of Pedri will have to be covered by Frenkie de Jong and Eric Garcia. Both players have different profiles but they can offer a good blend as well if they can manage to work together and deliver what Flick requires from them.

Right in front of them, Lamine Yamal and Raphinha occupy the two winger positions, with Yamal on the right and Raphinha on the left. In between them, Fermin Lopez starts as the team’s central attacking midfielder.

Lastly, up top, Ferran Torres starts as the team’s centre-forward and he will be tasked with making the most of the chances that he gets. He has enjoyed good form in La Liga this season, and Barça will be hoping for more from him.
