The Catalan giants have officially secured the future of Luca Perez, one of the most promising young defenders emerging from the academy. 

The 16-year-old centre-back has signed his first professional contract with Barcelona, ensuring that his development will continue under the club’s supervision after years of steady progress through the youth ranks.

The announcement was confirmed by Barcelona through the club’s official channels, with youth football coordinator and methodology director Sergi Mila present for the signing.

Luca’s story is one that perfectly reflects Barcelona’s long-term academy philosophy.

The defender joined the club from Damm in 2018 and has spent the last eight years developing within La Masia. 

Throughout that period, coaches have closely monitored his progression, with the youngster consistently earning praise for his maturity and defensive reliability.
