Official: Barcelona starting lineup to face Getafe | Rashford, Fermin miss out | OneFootball

As Barcelona look for their third consecutive victory in all competitions, the club have officially announced their starting lineup that will take on Getafe this evening.

Much to everyone’s surprise, Hansi Flick has made fewer changes than expected, with Frenkie de Jong notably retaining his place in the team, despite worries over his fitness.

De Jong is set to operate in the double-pivot alongside Pedri. That means Marc Casado starts on the bench, alongside Fermin Lopez, who makes way for Dani Olmo.

Olmo’s ability to play in tight spaces makes him a better fit for Getafe’s low-defensive block professed by coach Jose Bordalas, who appears to be a huge admirer of Johan Cruyff.

In the attack, Marcus Rashford misses out despite scoring twice against Newcastle United in midweek.

Interestingly, Flick has gone with the attacking trifecta of Raphinha, Ferran Torres and Robert Lewandowski, with Ferran likely to operate out wide.

In defence, Eric Garcia and Andreas Christensen are set to form the central defensive partnership, with Jules Kounde operating as a right-back.

Gerard Martin was expected to be rested in order to make way for Jofre Torrents. But Martin continues to start, in the absence of Alejandro Balde. Joan Garcia, meanwhile, continues in goal.
