FC Barcelona are set to kick off their game against Real Sociedad soon. For both teams, this is a big fixture, but Barça will see this as a great opportunity to aim for that top spot in La Liga if they can manage a win here.

For that reason, it is hardly surprising to see that Hansi Flick has decided to rely on a strong starting eleven in this game. Despite the injuries, the official starting line-up looks like a strong one here and there are some good options on the bench as well considering the overall squad.

In goal, Wojciech Szczesny starts now that Joan Garcia is injured. The Polish goalkeeper has been in this position before, however, and that could play to his advantage.

Ahead of him, in defense, Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen start side by side. They will look to minimise all the threat that Real Sociedad has to offer, while also looking to link up with their teammates.

On their flanks, Jules Kounde and Gerard Martin start and will look to offer width to the team. They will have both offensive and defensive duties to complete, but they have the quality to manage that.

In midfield, Pedri and Frenkie de Jong start together and they will look to continue their formidable partnership. Both players seem unfazed no matter who is infront of them, and that is exactly the kind of composure that will be needed here.

On the wings, Marcus Rashford and Roony Bardghji start. Both players have the ability to create spaces for their teammates, and they will look to exploit that. In between them, however, is Dro Fernandez. A surprising start, but one that highlights his quality and the team’s faith in his abilities.

Up top, as the lone striker, Robert Lewandowski starts. The Polish veteran has a lot of goals to offer, and Barcelona will be relying on him to finish off the chances that are created for him in this game.
