Official: Barcelona young midfielder out for three weeks with muscle injury | OneFootball

Following the update about Gavi’s impending arthroscopic surgery, FC Barcelona have now announced that Fermin Lopez will be out of action for three weeks due to muscle injury.

The 22-year-old youngster suffered a groin injury last night during the final stages of the game against Getafe, which Barça won 3-0.

Fermin was visibly in a lot of pain and left the pitch in tears, leading to concerns initially.

Now, after he underwent tests earlier today, Barcelona have confirmed the nature of his injury and time of absence.

“The player Fermin Lopez has a muscle injury in the left iliac psoas. He will be out for about three weeks,” the statement read.

It means that Fermin will now miss the upcoming matches against Real Oviedo and Real Sociedad this week, as well as the UEFA Champions League clash against PSG on 1 October.

The Spaniard is unlikely to be available for the game against Sevilla on 5 October either, with his return expected to take place after the international break.
