Official: Bayern send Javier Fernandez back on loan to 1.FC Nürnberg | OneFootball

FC Bayern Munich have confirmed they are loaning out the talented Javier Fernández to the second division once again.

As officially announced by 1.FC Nürnberg this morning, 13 June, the midfielder's loan has been extended by another year.

The Spanish U-18 international played on loan in Nürnberg during the second half of last season, picking up one assist in eight games.

“Javier has shown what great potential he has," said Nürnberg sporting director Joti Chatzialexiou, of the Bayern prodigy.

“We are very pleased with the progress he has made since joining us. It was always the plan to keep him with us beyond the second half of the season”.

Fernandez himself, who still holds a two-year long contract at Bayern until 2028, was equally happy to return to Nürnberg: 

“I have settled in very well at FCN, I feel very comfortable at the club and in the city. The playing time is good for me.

"I notice that I am improving in many areas. That will also be my goal for the new season: to keep pushing and improve even further.”
