Chelsea have officially just announced four big executive changes within the club at board room level via their website.
And it makes you wonder right away, can any of them now finally secure Chelsea a front of shirt sponsor after playing without one now for TWO season! It’s beyond belief really when you read that back. It’s never happened before in football and I doubt it will ever happen again? How have they managed to go into a second season without a FOS sponsor!? Madness.
Whatever happens with the FOS sponsor, Chelsea have just made some big changes in the board room.
To many people, these names and changes will not mean much at all and we will have no idea really what they will be doing. You don’t get to see or hear much about the business side and what people really do, other than some changes as and when they happen, just like today.
A flag waves at Stamford Bridge by night.
On the club website, Chelsea have announced that Todd Kline has joined as President of Commercial and Phil Lynch as Chief Digital Officer.
James Murray, formerly Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Business Operations at the club, assumes a new role as Chief Operating Officer, taking on a wider remit of responsibility in the day-to-day running of club operations.
Casper Stylsvig has left his role of Chief Revenue Officer at the club to pursue other opportunities.
A Chelsea FC spokesperson said:
‘Todd and Phil are both steeped in experience and respected in their fields, and we look forward to continue working with them to drive the club forward, building on the foundations for the future. As a club, we also want to express our collective gratitude to Casper for all his work and commitment since joining.
‘James Murray’s promotion to COO is well-deserved. Since joining the club, he has played a crucial role in the progress we have made in all areas across the business and we look forward to continuing to grow as a club together.’
