Official | Genoa sign Rennes’ Leo Østigård on loan | OneFootball

Genoa CFC have signed Rennes centre-back Leo Østigård (25) on loan, both clubs have announced. Rennes and Genoa have reportedly reached an agreement over a loan with a purchase option worth €8m. The Norwegian centre-back has already spent a short spell on loan at the Serie A side, between January and June 2022.

Les Rouge et Noir signed Østigård from Napoli last year in a €7m deal. The former Brighton centre-back was expected to fill the void left by Belgium international centre-back Arthur Theate, but he failed to make his mark and was already on his way out six months in. He joined Bundesliga side Hoffenheim on loan with an option to buy for the second part of the campaign and was deemed surplus to requirements by Rennes.
