The XI of players set to be depended upon by Barcelona to get the better of La Liga rivals Athletic Club has on Wednesday evening been unveiled.

And it features one altogether noteworthy inclusion.

Barcelona are of course primed to return to action in short order.

Fresh off booking their spot in the Last-16 of the Copa del Rey last weekend, the Blaugrana have turned their attentions towards matters in the Spanish Super Cup.

A showdown with Ernesto Valverde’s Athletic Club lies in wait, in the competition’s semi-finals.

And, as alluded to above, a short time ago, the line-up of players set to be tasked by Barcelona with booking a spot in this weekend’s showpiece was confirmed.

The most head-turning inclusion comes between the posts, where Hansi Flick has decided to stick with Wojciech Szczęsny, for just the Pole’s 2nd appearance of the campaign.

Elsewhere, youngster Lamine Yamal also steps back in, following a spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury.
