Barcelona and Spain wonderkid Lamine Yamal has won the 2025 Kopa Trophy for the best U-21 player in the world at the Ballon d’Or gala in Paris.

The 18-year-old sensation becomes the first player to win back-to-back Kopa Trophy prizes after having already triumphed at the 2024 Ballon d’Or ceremony.

One of the best young footballers in the game, Lamine enjoyed a splendid 2024/25 season, helping Barcelona win the domestic treble.

The teenage sensation’s prize is more than deserving, as he beat out teammate Pau Cubarsi to the award, along with Real Madrid’s Dean Huijsen and PSG starlet Desire Doue, among others.

“Thank you very much to France Football for the award. It’s an honour to be here again. I want to thank FC Barcelona, ​​the national team; without them, I wouldn’t be here,” Lamine said in his acceptance speech.

“I want to thank my family and my teammates. I hope to keep working hard and achieve many more,” he concluded.
