Official, Mandas joins Bournemouth as Lazio sign Edoardo Motta | OneFootball

Lazio announced the permanent signing of 21-year-old goalkeeper Edoardo Motta from Reggiana on Tuesday morning, then confirmed Christos Mandas had joined Bournemouth on loan with an option to buy.

The club said in a statement that Motta has signed a long-term deal after passing a medical, while Mandas moves to the Premier League side on loan, subject to international clearance. The Greek joined from OFI Crete in summer 2023 and made 33 appearances.

The Motta fee was not disclosed, with estimates in Italy of around €1.2 million, and Juventus due a 50% sell-on.

Mandas became first choice in the second half of last season during Ivan Provedel’s dip in form. Provedel kept the shirt after Maurizio Sarri returned last summer, and Mandas has featured only once this term, in the Coppa Italia win over AC Milan.

Bournemouth will reportedly pay about €3 million as a loan fee, with a purchase option near €18 million. That option is said to become an obligation if they qualify for Europe and if he reaches a set number of appearances.
