Official: Muharemovic joins Leeds United in €40m agreement from Sassuolo | OneFootball

Sassuolo have officially sold defender Tarik Muharemovic to Leeds United for a reported €40m fee, with half that going to his former club Juventus.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international participated in the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada, after knocking Italy out in the play-offs.

He had also been linked with the likes of Inter, Bournemouth, Sunderland, and even a return to Juve, but ultimately Leeds United stepped up to meet the €40m asking price.

As part of the €2m sale to Sassuolo in 2025, following an initial loan spell, Juventus retained a 50 per cent cut of the future sale fee, so they are pocketing around €20m from this deal.

The 23-year-old centre-back underwent his medical tests this week and has now been formally announced as a new Leeds United player.

Muharemovic leaves Italian football after amassing 32 Serie A appearances, where he scored two goals and provided two assists.

This is believed to be a club record investment from Leeds United, who just earned promotion into the Premier League.
