Official: One Barcelona youngster departs as another signs new deal | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have on Friday announced a pair of considerable developments in the club’s academy setup.

The first comes in the form of a contract renewal.

The Blaugrana starlet to have put pen to paper on fresh terms in Catalunya’s capital comes in the form of Òscar Gistau. Frontman Gistau has long been considered one of the standout up-and-coming talents in Barcelona, hailed for his goalscoring instincts and technical quality.

After a season plying his trade with Barca Atlètic, the Spaniard has in turn penned an extension through the summer of 2028.

Whilst one Blaugrana youngster stays put, though, another is on the move. Diego Kochen, like Gistau, spent the duration of the 2025/26 season honing his craft at reserve level with Barca Atlètic.

The goalkeeper was also a regular in Hansi Flick’s senior setup, securing his place on the bench for a number of first-team fixtures.

Next time out, though, the American will be tasked with securing senior minutes away from his parent club.

As per a statement across Barca Atlètic’s social media platforms:

‘FC Barcelona and Lyngby Boldklub have reached an agreement for the loan of Barça Atlètic goalkeeper Diego Kochen for one season with an option to buy, until June 30, 2027.’
