La Liga outfit Real Betis have on Friday announced the immediate departure of striker Vitor Roque.
This comes ahead of the youngster’s imminent return to Brazil, with Palmeiras.
Roque’s name has of course dominated the headlines across all of Spain over the course of the last week.
This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that Barcelona had entered into negotiations with Palmeiras, over sending the 19-year-old to the latter ahead of today’s Brazilian transfer deadline.
Both clubs were eager to strike a deal at the earliest point possible, with the Camp Nou brass desperate to recoup some of the fee which went into bringing Roque in last year.
The one stumbling block towards an agreement being found came in the form of Real Betis, with the Verdiblancos having demanded compensation for agreeing to allow their attacker’s loan deal to be cut short.
As alluded to above, though, on Friday, Betis have at last given the green light to the transfer.
As per a statement across the Andalusian club’s website and social media platforms:
‘Real Betis Balompié and FC Barcelona have agreed to resolve the loan of striker Vitor Roque. The Brazilian, who arrived last summer from Barcelona, leaves after playing 33 games and scoring 7 goals. The Club thanks him for his services and wishes him luck in his future professional challenges.’
Roque, in turn, is now all set to seal a move back to his home country, in a €30 transfer to the aforementioned Palmeiras.
