Official: Real Madrid megastar named La Liga Player of the Month for January | OneFootball

After Jude Bellingham was named La Liga U-23 Player of the Month for January, his Real Madrid teammate Kylian Mbappe has also won an award.

Indeed, the French megastar has been voted the La Liga Player of the Month for January, after a brilliant start to the new year.

The 26-year-old attacker scored five goals over the month in La Liga, during which Real Madrid won all three of their matches, taking the top position in the league and stretching their lead to four points.

Mbappe began January by helping Real Madrid defeat Valencia 1-2, where, despite not scoring, he delivered a strong performance.

A few days later, Mbappe played a key role in Real Madrid’s comeback, scoring twice, including a penalty, in a 4-1 win over Las Palmas.

However, the best was yet to come from Mbappe as the forward played perhaps his best match as a Real Madrid player, scoring all three goals in a 0-3 victory against Real Valladolid in the final match of the month.

Mbappe wins the La Liga Player of the Month award for the first time in his career, succeeding his teammate Bellingham, who won the award in December.

The Real Madrid superstar triumphed in the final voting ahead of Hugo Duro (Valencia), Kike Garcia (Deportivo Alaves), Luis Milla (Getafe), and Dodi Lukebakio (Sevilla).
