Official: Real Madrid star signs new contract & handed new jersey number | OneFootball

An up-and-coming member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has put pen to paper on a new contract with the club.

The player in question? Gonzalo García.

Youngster Gonzalo is for his part of course fresh off something of a breakout summer in the colours of Real Madrid.

Afforded a surprisingly prominent place in Los Blancos’ XI at the Club World Cup owing to an illness being suffered by Kylian Mbappé, the 21-year-old went on to take full advantage of his chance.

All told, Gonzalo featured from the off in all six of his side’s fixtures in the USA, chipping in with five direct goal contributions along the way.

And as alluded to above, the significance of such efforts did not go unappreciated on the part of those behind the scenes at the Santiago Bernabéu…

This comes amid confirmation that the young goalscorer has been rewarded with a new long-term contract, through the summer of 2030.

Not only that, but Gonzalo’s permanent first-team status has also been recognised by way of a new jersey number:
