Real Madrid’s perfect start to the 2025/26 La Liga season under Xabi Alonso has already brought recognition, with three members of the squad receiving nominations for the league’s monthly awards.

After three wins from three matches, Kylian Mbappe, Arda Guler and Alonso himself are all in the running for individual honours.

Mbappe has been nominated for the Player of the Month award, while Guler features among the contenders for U23 Player of the Month.

Alonso, meanwhile, is in the mix for Coach of the Month alongside Athletic Bilbao’s Ernesto Valverde and Espanyol’s Manolo Gonzalez.

A strong start under Alonso

Mbappe’s start to the new season has been impressive, with the French superstar scoring three goals in as many matches.

He struck a fantastic brace against Real Oviedo and also netted against Osasuna in the league opener, making him one of the league’s top scorers in August.

Against Mallorca, he was unable to find the net, although his frustration grew as two goals were ruled out.

Even so, his output has underlined why he is considered one of the best players in world football and why Madrid were desperate to bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Guler, on the other hand, has shown signs of maturity and confidence in his performances.

The young Turkish talent has already scored one goal and provided an assist in the first three matches, proving that he is ready to compete for a regular place in the team despite the heavy competition for minutes.

His creativity and vision have made him a standout option whenever Alonso has called upon him.

As for Alonso, his new adventure as Real Madrid’s head coach could not have started better in terms of results, as winning all three matches has given his side early momentum in the title race.

While some performances still leave room for improvement, Alonso has managed to combine his tactical ideas with the squad’s quality, delivering victories and laying the foundation for what could be an exciting season ahead.
