Official: Real Madrid youngster joins La Liga rivals on permanent deal | OneFootball

Real Madrid talent Mario Martín has this week secured a permanent departure from the Spanish heavyweights.

This comes amid confirmation of La Liga rivals Getafe exercising their option to sign the midfielder outright.

After being made aware that game time would be tough to come by with his parent club last summer, Martín spent this past season plying his trade on loan at the Coliseum.

The Sonseca native went on to play a leading role for Getafe, racking up 37 appearances between league and cup, and chipping in with four goals and two assists along the way.

Still just 22, it had in turn long been rumoured that the Azulones were ready to move ahead with a permanent deal for Martín. And as alluded to above, on Thursday, precisely as much has been confirmed.

As per a statement across Getafe’s website and social media platforms:

‘Getafe CF has exercised its option to buy midfielder Mario Martín from Real Madrid, and the player will be linked to the club for the next 4 seasons, until June 30, 2030.’
