Official | Reims’ Valentin Atangana signs for Al-Ahli in €25m deal | OneFootball

France youth international midfielder Valentin Atangana (20) has joined Al-Ahli, both clubs have announced. The 20-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the Saudi Pro League side. The defensive midfielder featured in all of Reims’ 36 Ligue 1 games the previous season, including the relegation play-off round against FC Metz. Atangana was expected to leave his formative club on the back of Reims’ Ligue 2 relegation.

It had been reported by So Foot that a complete agreement had been found between Strasbourg and Reims for Atangana’s transfer. The deal was worth a reported €15m, and the player looked all set to join the BlueCo-owned club. However, Al-Ahli have been interested throughout the window and never threw in the towel. The club were capable of outbidding Strasbourg and that is exactly what they have done to secure his signature. A deal worth €25m has been struck.
